Happy Valentine's Day!
Today is the day where you are supposed to show the person you love them by showering them with gifts and your love. For many years, I never had a valentine. Even when I wasn't single, I still wasn't a valentine. Now, as a happily married woman, valentines day still seems very lack luster. Don't get me wrong, it sure beats having a loving valentine over being with someone and still technically not. But, I often wonder, why do people make such a big deal out of one day?
My husband and I spend everyday showing each other how special we are to one another. I get random flowers, candies, and gifts from my hubby throughout the year. My husband gets random what nots from me as well. As a working mother of 4 the best part of valentines day is my mother offering to watch the kids for some adult time. This year my husband is on vacation for 5 days. Today is valentines day, but we won't be going out until Saturday. I am definitely looking forward to a day of grown up fun.
For many years as a single person valentines day would depress me. After many years of never celebrating valentines day, I decided to do so for myself. After all the day is about celebrating the person you love. There is no one I love more than myself! I'm lying, I think my kids are pretty high on that list. :)
Rather you have a valentine or don't have a valentine you are still very much loved and adored by many. Most importantly, by YOU! Be your own valentine. Go get yourself a yummy treat and celebrate how much you love yourself!
Happy Valentines Day!
